DKNY was founded by New York native Donna Karan in 1989, five years after she launched the female clothing company that bears her name. Donna worked for Anne Klein starting in 1971, first as an associate designer, and then as co-designer after Anne Klein's death.
DKNY was born from Donna's desire to provide a more casual form of dress. Today DKNY and all the Donna Karan brands are owned by French luxury conglomerate LVMH. There are dozens of Donna Karan New York stores worldwide, with the first one opening in London in the mid 1990's.
They make sunglasses for men and women, as well as unisex models. The majority of these sunglasses are made in China and retail for $75 to $180. The model I have my eyes on (but not yet on my eyes), is the DY5045.
