TAG Heuer

In 1860 Edouard Heuer begins a watchmaking workshop in St. Imier Switzerland, he was 20 years old. By 1876 he establishes a subsidiary in London. In 1880 Heuer issues the Hunter watch which is amazingly, not wound by a key. In 1888 Edouard’s son Jules joins management and the company becomes TAG Heuer. TAG stands for Techniques d'Avant-Garde. In 1891, devastated by the sudden death of his wife, Edouard steps down from the company. Within a year he dies as well, at the age of 52. By 1910 TAG Heuer has distribution in the United States and by 1912 their first logo is put into use. As the years progress younger generations of the Heuer family step into the company, and more famous people are wearing TAG Heuer watches, including Dwight Eisenhower, Harry S Truman, Prince William of Sweden and John Glenn, the first American in space (wearing his Heuer stopwatch of course). In 1958 a US subsidiary is established. Through the years TAG Heuer forms many partnerships and creates many fine watches…but this isn’t a site about watches, it is a site about sunglasses.

So on to their sunglasses, worn by Tiger Woods and Tom Cruise, TAG offers sport inspired sunglasses. For cycling, snow sports, golf, driving and sailing, their sunglasses are made titanium, aluminum, magnesium, composite rubber and acetate.
