Revo was founded by optical engineer Mitch Ruda in 1985. He had the idea to take the special coating that NASA puts on the space shuttle windows and apply it to sunglass lenses. A revolutionary idea that worked.
At some point Revo was absorbed into Bausch and Lomb, Inc, but I am sketchy on exactly when that took place. In June 1999, Revo was acquired by Luxottica as part of the Bausch and Lomb purchase. Also in the group were Ray Ban, Killer Loop and Arnette.
Revo makes high-tech eyewear for outdoor and sport enthusiasts. Their glasses are all made in different parts of Italy, and retail from $160 to over $400.
